Global Media Outreach is looking for a self-motivated, experienced Accountant to join our team. In this position, you’ll play a lead role in the ministry’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting and compliance with the law. We’re a fully remote team and welcome applicants from anywhere in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to apply. The position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Provides financial information to management, including Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Statements, and other reports.
Compiles account information for asset, liability, capital account, and expense entries, including, but not limited to tracking restricted donations, vacation accruals, and depreciation.
Recommends financial actions by analyzing information.
Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
Creation of annual budget.
Maintains records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting materials.
Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Secures financial information by completing database backups.
Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
Oversees accounts payable functions, including payroll (which may be outsourced or handled by a subordinate), by verifying documentation, and initiating disbursements via check, ACH, and wire.
Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Review and approve state fundraising renewals by each state’s deadline.
Prepares reports needed to assure compliance with regulations for POP plan.
Annually process 403(b) 5500 SF return/report.
Maintains donor confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
Assures that donor restricted giving is tracked and released as restrictions are met.
Assists outside auditors at year-end which includes preparing schedules, completing documents, and providing any other necessary data requested.
Corporate Finance experience
Advanced knowledge and experience with QuickBooks and spreadsheets
Understanding of accounting rules and procedures including the Generally Accepted Account Principles (GAAP)
Ability to work independently

Data Entry Management
Non-Profit accounting experience a plus
A desire for others to know Jesus Christ
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting
Experience with financial reporting requirements
Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
