Amity Bible Church (ABC) is seeking a Mission and Outreach (M&O) Pastor/Senior Director who will be responsible for overseeing planning, strategic and tactical goals, and budgets of the M&O ministry. Serve as an engaging spiritual leader and role model with a strong biblical background. Establish and empower a reliable team of steward leaders to help maintain an active presence with our local and overseas communities by building strong partnerships. Additionally, the M&O Pastor/Senior Director will coordinate church-wide and/or community participation in projects to help those in need.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(Other duties may be assigned)
Establish current and long-range goals, objectives, plans and policies, with approval by the Senior Pastor.
Responsible for the oversight of all (M&O) Ministries to include making sure the infrastructure of all (M&O) Ministries meet the necessary criteria and guidelines of ABC.
Manage and help compile the (M&O) Ministry budget for reporting purposes.
Serve as the (M&O) advocate. On a regular basis, educating and enlightening the congregation about concerns and needs of (M&O) in the local community and overseas.
Be available for pulpit supply when needed.
Collaborate with church leaders in planning, developing, and implementing all aspects of a balanced and engaging (M&O) Ministry.
Identify resources and make recommendations for developing the (M&O) Ministry programming.
Ensure adequate volunteer support by recruiting and training volunteers to serve in all aspects of the (M&O) Ministry.
Maintain accurate records of M&O participation.
Collaborate with church staff members in a cohesive and open team concept.
Create volunteer teams to provide follow up with congregants that are interested in the M&O Ministries.
Respond to requests from ministry leaders in a timely fashion ensuring the highest level of customer service, professionalism, integrity and follow through.
Coordinate with the Marketing and Communication Team for updating and maintaining the M&O Ministry website and coordinating social media connections.
Responsible for identifying Life Transforming Stories within the M&O Ministry and assisting with the publication of these stories.
Directly manage staff and volunteers in the M&O Ministry. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the ministry. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Assist in interviewing, hiring, and training employees and volunteers; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; and rewarding employees and volunteers; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Minimum Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or Divinity
Two+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
1 year of supervisory experience
Must be able to recognize and maintain confidentiality.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, including excellence in oral communications to verbalize issues clearly, concisely and, competently in all situation types.
Strong written communication skills to include legible writing skills.
Must possess strong computer skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software. Windows based software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Master’s degree in Social Work or Divinity

Dr. Smith received his undergraduate degree from Grambling State University, completed additional graduate level study at George Washington University, earned a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) and completed the Doctor of Ministry program at DTS.
Pastor Smith’s ministry focus continues to be on building strong marriages, strengthening families, and developing fully devoted followers of Christ. Through precept and example, Pastor Smith constantly endeavors to motivate the congregation to become a “new community” built on a “new commandment”. Pastor Smith and his wife Glenna have been married for almost 50 years.
