Johns Creek Baptist Church, a dynamic and growing church located in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking an Executive Director of Operations. This key leadership role reports directly to the Senior Pastor and is responsible for the management and oversight of the financial, personnel, facilities, operations, food service, risk management, and IT functions of the church. In addition, this position serves as a liaison to the stewardship and personnel committees and actively participates and supports the ministries of the church.
Financial Administration – oversee financial accounting of the church; provide monthly financial reporting and analysis to key leaders; develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures; coordinate annual church budget process and management of said budget; and coordinate annual external financial review.
Personnel – maintain personnel records; implement policies; supervise payroll; coordinate annual performance review process; implement disciplinary actions; and assure church compliance with State and Federal labor laws and Health Care Reform.
Facilities – oversee the maintenance of church physical asset records; administer policies and procedures; and supervise work of facilities staff.
Food Service – along with Food Service Manager, oversee Wednesday night dinners and other special events involving food service.
Operations – serve as the primary point of contact for all operational needs of the church.
Risk Management - maintain program for building and grounds security; establish security protocols; and along with Treasurer, negotiate and manage all insurance related matters
IT – oversight of the church’s IT needs and infrastructure; liaison to IT service providers
An understanding of the dynamics and complexities of congregational life.
An appreciation for the theological orientation of Johns Creek Baptist Church.
Capacity to work closely and confidentially with the Senior Pastor on daily needs within the church.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a business-related field required (master’s preferred)
Certified Church Administrator (CCA) designation preferred
Proven financial and operational leadership experience
10+ years of relevant management experience
Ability to work flexible hours, as needed
Skilled in accounting, church management software and MS Office Suite
Strong communication and relationship building skills
Non-profit and/or ministry experience preferred
