The Business Administrator is responsible for providing leadership in administration of the daily operations of the church and fiscal management.
Supervise the daily business operation of the church, as well as all financial and human resource matters for the and Mother’s Day Out program.
Assist the church trustees in legal and business matters.
Coordinate individual ministry budget requests and develop an annual comprehensive budget proposal for use by the Budget and Finance Committee.
Work in conjunction with Treasurer, Financial Assistant and Financial Procedures & Practices Oversight Committee to ensure existing financial policies are followed. Develop new and update existing financial policies as needed.
Supervise the Building Superintendent and help Building Superintendent oversee all aspects of the church facilities.
Work with the Long-Term Investment Subcommittee to ensure all existing policies are followed, as well as, communicate with brokers regarding the subcommittee’s investment strategies/decisions for the church’s investment funds.
Supervise the work of the Financial Assistant.
Supervise the maintenance and upkeep of the church computer systems. This includes all hardware and software.
Provide oversight for the insurance and risk management needs of the church.
Review monthly receipts and expenditures before reports are published.
Oversee all advertising campaigns, outside communications and media needs.
Serve as staff liaison with the Budget and Finance Committee, the Teller Committee, the Long-Term Investment Subcommittee, the Properties Committee, and the Financial Practices & Procedures Oversight Committee. In addition, because of Human Resource duties, attend the Personnel Committee meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting preferred)
Proficiency in basic accounting procedures and office and personnel management
High Confidentiality and high attention to detail
Strong organizational skills including the ability to comprehend the total operating picture of the church and to set priorities accordingly
Interpersonal skills which will enable him/her to act as a sounding board, conflict manager, and liaison between the staff and others in the church office and a multi-generational congregation
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Team-builder with the ability to blend the business management of the church with the programs and ministries of the church.
At least 5 years experience in business office/managerial role
Independent worker who is proactive in areas needing improvement
