ARBORLAWN UNITED METHODIST CHURCH (www.arborlawnumc.org) is seeking a part-time bookkeeper requiring about 20-30 hours weekly. After learning our systems, we believe the average week will normalize at 25 hours. A negotiated work schedule is acceptable, but there are tasks required for specific days and others with no-later-than requirements. Arborlawn UMC, a congregation that serves over 3,000 persons, is located in an established and thriving community in southwest Fort Worth. Average worship attendance is approximately 850 weekly. There is also a weekday pre-school during the school year. The ideal candidate will be proficient with QuickBooks Pro, Shelby v.5, Microsoft Office Suite products; and have experience with not-for-profits and fund accounting.
Experience in full service bookkeeping (accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger).
Working knowledge of GAAP principles and FASB not-for-profit standards.
Full understanding of financial reports including statement of financial position (balance sheet), statement of activities (income/expense statement), statement of cash flows.
Commitment to confidentiality regarding account records, staff, and church members.
Organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
Strong interpersonal skills to provide superlative customer service.
